REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER BRAZIL
The Consulate General of Brazil in New York accepts Tourist Visa applications Only for residents of the states of Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania.
The Tourist Visa is generally good for 5 years with multiple entries. There are, however, exceptions for the duration of the visa, based on the documentation presented and purpose of the trip;
The tourist visa must be used within 90 days from the date that it was issued;
All 5-year tourist visa holders, regardless of nationality or the validity date of the visa, may only stay in Brazil for up to 90 days. The Brazilian Federal Police may extend the visa, yet it may not exceed 180 days per year, under any circumstances;
The validity of the visa begins on the date of first entry in Brazil.
Submit the Following:
U.S. Passport (not a copy), must be valid for 6 months from date of entry, and contain at least one blank visa page.
1 Brazil Visa Form, fully completed and signed.
1 Recent professional passport type photogragh.
A copy of your round-trip ticket or a booked itinerary showing travel to and from Brazil (confirming the purchase of the ticket, with passenger?s name, itinerary, flight number and arrival/departure dates);
A copy of the U.S. Alien Resident Card for foreign residents and/or a valid visa or document to return from Brazil to the US or to another country;
The Consulate may request additional information/documentation as deemed necessary.
Tourist Visa Fees
U.S. passport holders must pay a processing fee of US$140.00 in reciprocity for an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a tourist visa to the U.S.;
Tourist visa fees vary according to nationality: Australia: US$35.00; Canada: US$65.00; Nigeria: US$40.00; Japan and Russia: US$50.00; Mexico: US$30.00 and all other countries: US$20.00;
An additional fee of US10.00 will be charged for any application not submitted in person by the applicant, regardless of nationality. This additional fee is not applicable to family members; and
No cash, personal or company checks are accepted, only U.S. POSTAL SERVICE MONEY ORDER, made out to the Consulate General of Brazil
1 Brazil Visa Form, filled out, dated and signed by the applicant;
a passport valid for a minimum of (6) six months from the date of intended arrival in Brazil, with at least one blank page available;
1 (one) recent 2?x 2? passport-photo, front view, white background. Snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted;
a copy of a round-trip ticket or a booked itinerary showing travel to and from Brazil, confirming purchase of the ticket and passenger?s name, itinerary, flight number and arrival/departure dates;
letter (on company?s letterhead) stating employee?s name and title, contact in Brazil, job description to be conducted in Brazil, how long the employee has been working for the company, and assuming full responsibility for the applicant while in Brazil;
if the applicant is self-employed, an additional letter will be required from his/her bank, containing financial references;
a copy of the US Alien Resident Card for foreign residents and/or a valid visa or document to return from Brazil to the US or to another country;
the Consulate may request additional information/documentation
Business Visa Fees
US$60,00 for the visa.
In addition to the amounts indicated above, a processing fee of US130.00 will be charged to all US passport holders in reciprocity for an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a Visa to the US;
an additional absent fee of US10.00 will be charged for any application not submitted in person by the applicant;
No cash, personal or company checks are accepted, only US POSTAL SERVICE MONEY ORDER, made out to the Consulate General of Brazil.
