REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER IRAN
Until further notice the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is only issuing pre-authorization to tourist visitors who have purchased their hotels through a Iranian tour operator and use a minimum of ground services (transfers, transportation, and guide)
Tourist Visa

Submit your U.S. Passport (must be valid for six months beyond intended stay).
2 Iran Visa Application, fully completed and signed (application form is 2 pages, front & back).
3 color photographs ( females ages 9 and up must cover their hair).
Visa authorization number must be submitted at time of processing.
Unaccompanied female visitors are required to be accompanied by an individual guide
Round-trip tickets or an itinerary.

Business Visa

Submit you U.S. Passport (must be valid for six months beyond intended stay)

A business letter from your employer stating all of the below:
Purpose of your trip.
Dates of stay in Iran.
Name and address of the contact(s) in Iran.
If staying with a host or at a hotel, the name and address must be giving.

The letter from your employer must state that the company will assume financial responsibility for the trip.
